Day 3 Balance £525

It has occurred to me that one of my challenges with this budget will be keeping hold of all of the small amounts of money that I budget for every month but need only occasionally. So for example I budget £6 a month for the boiler service and £3 for the opticians. Yet the boiler is serviced annually and the opticians is every 2 years. I could keep hold of all monies unspent in a savings account each month to cover these. But what if I have genuinely underspent so can afford to treat my child or save towards a holiday? So I am going to augment my spreadsheet to earmark and sum up postponed budgeted items, which will allow me to calculate the difference - good or bad. I’ll add it at the end of each month and can blog it here.

               Bought hand creams for the child minders as a thank you gift out of my vouchers from work
